RESERVING
YOUR TRIP
A $500 deposit is required to reserve your spot on a trip. Click
here to reserve your trip!
A second $500 payment is due 90 days before trip departure. The balance
of the trip price is due 60 days before trip departure.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations must be received in writing (an
is fine). If you cancel your trip more than 90 days before trip departure,
your deposit will be refunded minus a $300 cancellation fee. If you
cancel less than 90 days, but more than 60 days before departure,
your deposits will not be returned. If you cancel less than 60 days
prior to trip departure, you will not receive a refund. (As a product,
summer travel in Alaska is more perishable than a tomato in the Arctic
winter. Last minute cancellations could put us out of business)!
TRIP DETAILS SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Please note that trip schedules, venues, activities, etc. are subject
to change due to safety, logistic, weather or other reasons. If the
trip must be altered due to such reasons, we will attempt to reroute
the trip and find acceptable alternative activities. You will not
receive a refund for advertised activities that must be canceled at
the last minute. If the trip must be cancelled completely due to "Acts
of God" or other exceptional causes, you will receive a 25% refund
and a 50% credit towards a future Out in Alaska trip. If a trip is
cancelled due to low enrollment, we will attempt to notify you of
this situation at least 30 days before the trip begins and provide
you with a full refund. If a trip is cancelled, we will not be liable
for non-refundable flights or other travel arrangements (Please consider
trip insurance).
WHAT YOUR TRIP PRICE INCLUDES
See trip itineraries for details specific to your trip. Costs for
scheduled activities are included. Your participation in scheduled
activities is generally optional (as long as your non-participation
does not affect the group’s schedule/itinerary), but you will
not receive a refund for included activities that you decline. Additional
or alternative activities may be available at additional cost. Please
note all prices are based on double occupancy. If you’d
like, we will attempt to find a roommate for you. You will need to
pay the single supplement cost if you choose not to or are not able
to room with someone else on the trip.
ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 18 years of age and have a sense of adventure.
Mature minors may be accommodated upon request and kid-friendly family
trips can be arranged on a custom tour basis. Out in Alaska’s
mission is to provide outstanding adventures in Alaska to gays and
lesbians from around the world. We are hetero-friendly too. All are
welcome. Physical demands vary by trip (see the trip itinerary). Most
trips allow flexibility in the physical activity level to respond
to group needs/desires. Of course, you will get the most of out of
your experience in wild Alaska if you are more fit. We encourage you
to workout or engage in regular (minimum three times per week) physical
activity for at least one month prior to your trip (this will be rewarding
in itself).
You will need to sign a Release of Liability that says you understand
that there are risks involved with wilderness travel and take responsibility
for the consequences of our trip. We commit to doing everything we
can to ensure trip safety – and we always welcome your concerns
and feedback.
You must respect the needs of the group, if you present a threat to
the physical or emotional safety of others, you will be dismissed
from the trip immediately and will have to incur any costs of travel
back to your gateway city.
HEALTH ISSUES
Our trips travel far from medical care. In an effort to reduce risks
you will need to complete a confidential health information form to
let us know if you have any major allergies, health issues, etc. We
recommend checking with your doctor if you have any health concerns.
You must have medical insurance in order to participate in our trips.
You are responsible for 100% of any medical and evacuation costs required
during or after the trip.
SAFETY
Your Out in Alaska guides are highly trained
and have an exceptional safety record. Your safety, comfort, and enjoyment
while visiting Alaska are our highest priority. Your lead guide is
Wilderness First Responder certified (sort of an EMT for the wilderness).
With our vast wilderness experience, we are always ready to handle
the unexpected road bump presented by Mother Nature or one of our
gravel ‘highways.’
